Tucked away at 28 West Bridge Street in Saugerties, New York, this unique former stable stands as an outstanding example of the Gothic Revival style of architecture popular in the mid-1800s in the Hudson Valley. The two wings of the barn were removed in the latter half of the twentieth century. Samuel Adams housed race horses here, which were used in popular ice racing on the Rondout Creek. A beam in the building is carved with the owner's name and date, S. ADAMS 1862, as well as the names of two of his fine ice racers, RIVER QUEEN and ICE ANGEL.
